It
was another day, another night as the day had passed. The sounds of vehicles
were heard as they went on the road somewhere in the city of Tokyo. It was
already eight forty five at night. Some people already went back home from
their day at work, but some just started their duty at night.
At the side of the road, he walked back to the place he called his home at the backstreet of buildings in the city of Tokyo. He loosens the neck tie that he had worn from earlier that day until it was right then. He seldom came back home this late at night, but there’s always something that was hidden behind the story that was told but he knew that none of it could clarify everything with what only was said.
He stopped right in front of the diner with the room he had been living in upstairs. He ran his fingers through his partly neat hair. He inhaled a deep breath as he closed his eyes at the same time before he pushed the door opened. He walked inside the diner.
“I’m back,” he said. He grabbed on the backpack holder on his shoulder before he walked towards the counter. Kanako turned around and looked at his direction, “Miyama san!” she said, feeling excited to see him there. He only lifted his hand to her, “Hey,” he said. The man behind the counter, his cousin, Bando Kenta, looked at his direction. Miyama put the bag that was on his shoulder before on the counter. He sat on the chair right in front of the counter. Bando looked at him curiously, he poured Miyama a glass of orange juice and put it on the counter right in front of him,
“Too much work?” he asked him. Miyama just lifted his shoulder up before he grabbed on the juice and drank it. “Kind of,” he said. Miyama looked away as he felt like his head wasn’t really functioning that well. He put the cup back down on the counter, “I’m quite tired to even think of anything tonight,” he replied Bando. Kanako looked at him curiously, “But why, Miyama san?” she asked him.
Miyama didn’t even look at her. He just grabbed on his bag and he sighed. He didn’t close the shop door shut as he got inside. He could feel wind slightly blew against his skin before he stood up from where he sat on. Kensuke looked at him, “Aren’t you going to at least eat first before you go?” he asked him. Miyama shakes his head from side to side, “No, maybe not but thanks,” he said. He walked pass the door, and head towards the stairs at the side of the diner before he climb it up and gets towards his room
At the same time, Akashi walked inside the diner, feeling crazy like he always have been, “Akashi is in the house!” he said. Miyama walked passed him and straight towards the stairs as he climb upstairs. Akashi was startled to see Miyama’s mischief behavior that night. He turned towards Kanako and Bando, “And what’s up with him?” he asked them. She lifted her shoulders up, “I don’t know! You’re the one working with him, not me!” she said to him.
Akashi thought for a while when she said that to him…
“Oh yeah…. It’s me… Not you…” he said. He walked towards the counter and looked at the menu on the table… “And I’m really hungry right now…” he said. She furrowed her face and hit him with her hand. Akashi grunted as he felt slight pain, “Ow! Why?!” he asked her. She gritted her teeth against each other, “Why don’t you even care about his condition?!” she asked him furiously.”And how would I know?! It’s his life not mine!” he replied her. She furrowed her face, “Whatever!” she said. Akashi rubbed on his shoulder that she had hit him earlier.
Bendo lifted his shoulders before he turned around to continue doing what he was doing. He adjust the wig on his hair as it moved slightly, “Ah, maybe he have a problem with his own life.. You shouldn’t be bothered about it,” he said and he continue doing his work.

He walked on the corridor at the side of few rooms that he had been living in. The light upstairs was slightly dim as there was only one small window at the other side. He stopped right in front of his room and he opened the door and he gets inside of it. He closed on the door. He took off his shoes, he turned around and walked towards the single bed inside the room. He put his bag on the bed before he took off the coat that he wore and hung it on the hanger close to him. He turned on the light as the switch was at the other side of his room. He undo his die and he started to unbutton the shirt that he wore one by one. He sat down on his bed and he let himself falls down on it before he inhaled a deep breath and closed his eyes…
He tried not to think about anything else at that time, but he could still see her smile…
“Why are you still in my mind,” he wondered about the lady he last saw apart from his work mates earlier that day. He knew that he was handling her case, he never had felt like this before… but why this time?? Why her? He could still see her smile even though she was behind the bar she was held as a prisoner… He could only hear her voice talking to her, but… he felt like there’s something different about this lady…
He was started to see that it was her to be the client that he got to defend. He knew that work is just work, there won’t be any emotion involved.
He knew that it was against his rules of being an attorney for her case, maybe he was too tired from too much work but he knew, he felt awkward even just talking to her…
It was against his rules of being an attorney for her case, to be feeling weird about her… Maybe he was too tired from too much work but he knew, he felt do awkward even just talking to her…
